The Good News Church of Africa holds to the believe in the following scriptural facts.
- God is the creator and preserver of all things, He created Man - male and Female - in His own image and gave them dominion over all earthly creation. Gen. 1:26:28, Heb. 11:3, John 1:3
- The Unity and Trinity of the God-head, eternally existing in three co-equal persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. 2 Cor 13:14; Math 3:16-17.
- The Deity and Humanity of God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ who being very God, also became man, being begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified, died and buried, was raised bodily from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father. John 20:31, 1:14; Mat 3:16-17; Lk. 1:35; Isa 9:6.
- The Deity and personality of God the Holy Spirit and the necessity of His work to make the death of Jesus Christ effective to the individual sinner, leading him to repentance and
His Ministry of dwelling permanently within and working through the believer for Godly life and service. Jn. 15: 26, 14: 26; 2 Cor. 13:14, Jn 16: 3- 11; Tit 3:5; Rom 8: 14; 1 Cor 12:4- 11; Act 8:28.
- The Divine Inspiration and infallibility of all the scripture as originally given and their absolute authority in all matters of faith and conduct. 2 Tim 3:16 -17; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 Cor 2:13.
- The Universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the fall, rendering all of humanity liable to God's condemnation. Rom 3:26; Jn. 3; Gen. 3:6; 2 Tim 2:14; Rom 5: 12.
- The sacrificial death of our substitute, the Lord Jesus Christ, as our ransom, the incarnate Son of God, by shedding of whose blood atonemnent was made for the whole world and whereby alone humanity is redeemed from all guilt, penalty and power of sin and death. 2 Tim 1:15; Luke 19:10; Rom. 5:6; 2 Pet. 3:18; Jn 10:9; Eph 2:18; Heb 10: 19-20; Col 1:13.
- The new birth as the work of God the Holy Spirit by grace through faith alone and not by works. Eph. 2:5, 8:10; Jn 1:13, 13; 1 Pet. 1:23; Tit 3:5; 1 Jn 5:1; James 1:18.
- The maintenance of good work and obedience to the revealed will of God in life and service, through which eternal rewards shall be received. Luke. 6:23; Jer 17:10, 32:2; rev 22:12; 1 Cor 3:8.
- The true and Universal Church, whose Head is Jesus Christ and whose members are all the born - again persons united to Christ and to one another by the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Eph 4:25, 5:30; Col 3:15; Eph 1:22; Col 1:18; Acts Rom 6:3.
- The supreme mission of the Church as being to glorify God and to preach the Gospel to all Nations. Matt 28:19; Act 1:18; Jn 20:21; Ezek 3:18-19.
- The observation of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper as instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ. Mk 16:15-16; Mat 28:18-20; Act 2:41-42; Rom 6:1-5; Lk. 22:14-20; 1 Cor 11:23 -26; Jn 10: 28 - 29; Jn 5:24; Rom 7:25, 5:10.
- The personal, visible and expected return of the Lord Christ to receive the Church and to reign with her on earth for 1,000 years. 1 Thes 4: 16, 17; Jn 14:3; Rev 20: 1-6; Mat 25:34; Acts 15:16-17;Isa 16:2-4.
- The literal resurrection of all people. Jn. 5: 28- 29; 1 Cor 15:52; Rev 20: 4-6
- The eternal Blessedness of all the Saved and the eternal punishment of the lost. 2 The 1:7-10; Rev 20: 6, 11-15, 2 Cor 5:8; Phil 1:23.
- Eternal Security of the truly saved and born again Christians. Jn 10: 28-29, 5:24; Rom 5:10; Heb 7:25.
